If you're looking to take responsibility for an accounting and clerical department at a successful company, Robert Half Finance is looking for a Controller. This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in Las Vegas, Nevada. To succeed in this role, you will need to oversee all accounting operational functions, close the accounting books on a monthly basis, prepare financial statements and lead departmental staff.Key responsibilities

Oversee all operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Present monthly financial reports to leadership and principal owners

Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Collaborate with executive team and principals to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Requirements

5+ years of progressive accounting experience

Strong familiarity with Construction Accounting

Foundational knowledge in Union Payroll

Practical knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

In-house payroll experience

Adeptness in Billing Functions

Demonstrated knowledge of Billing Collection

Strong attention to detail

General familiarity with month end closings

Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
