WHY WE NEED YOU The mechatronics team designs, develops, and tests the systems used to integrate electromagnetic devices, manage energy storage, and convert power between single and multiphase loads. The team drives vehicle architecture decisions and develops components needed to support the hyperloop system. VH needs a new mechatronics engineer with solid understanding of high and low voltage systems, an interest in testing and development, and a passion for new, efficient technology in the transportation market.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Design systems involving power distribution, actuation, and controls
  • Develop and support control systems for thermal management
  • Select electrical hardware, release pinouts, create schematics, release and maintain harness drawings for procurement
  • Select off-the-shelf components to perform dedicated and integrated functions
  • Support testing of integrated systems to support vehicle operations
  • Simulate electrical and mechanical systems applicable to the hyperloop
  • Produce schematics and functional diagrams for mechatronic system
  • Interface with vehicle functions like levitation, guidance, and propulsion

WHAT YOU'VE DONE
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechatronic engineering or an equivalent discipline
  • 2+ years of experience designing, building, and testing mechatronic systems
  • Used MATLAB/Simulink/SimScape for simulation and application code development
  • Worked with digital protocols like CAN, LIN, and Ethernet
  • Applied electrical, mechanical, and software skills in synthesis
  • Used technical documentation to communicate detailed analysis

NICE TO HAVE
  • System integration track record in vehicle applications
  • Knowledge of embedded systems such as Microcontrollers, PLCs, and FPGAs
  • Experience with rapid prototyping tools and methods
  • Programming Experience (C, C, Python)
  • Knowledge of control system design and analysis
  • Experience with MCAD & ECAD software such as Solidworks, Inventor, NX, Eagle or Altium
  • Experience with Electric Vehicles (Automotive, Marine, Aerospace)
