Title: Snowflake Data Architect

Location: Las Vegas, NV

We're currently looking for an experienced Data Architect with a specific background in Snowflake. You will assist in designing, developing, and deploying data-driven solutions. You will join a team of Data Architects and Engineers who will be responsible for optimizing and transforming data architecture, infrastructure, operations, and related functions. You will work as part of a team on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data solutions.

What you've got:
  • 10+ years of overall IT experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence technologies
  • 5+ years' experience in Snowflake implementations, preferably on AWS
  • 5+ years' experience in AWS Cloud Migration Projects in Data Engineering roles

Snowflake skills needed:
  • Familiar with design and architecture of Snowflake
  • Implementing external functions, Provisioning, Encryption Keys, Access Control, Setup roles, Database Cloning
  • Experience using AWS services and extensive hands-on experience with SQL
  • AWS CLI / Networking, Securing Sensitive PII & SPII data, Linux OS
  • Implement best practices on Data Loading, Views, Stage Objects, Visualizations

Additional requirements:
  • Configure storage integration to access AWS S3 and create stage objects
  • Experience with ETL, SnowSQL, SnowPipe, SSIS, Stored Procedures, Python
  • Experience with version control tools, DevOps, Agile, AWS Alerting/Monitoring tools
  • Experience setting up resource monitors, deploying RBAC controls, virtual warehouse sizing, and query performance tuning, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of security (SAML, SCIM, OAuth, OpenID, Kerberos, Policies, entitlements, etc.)
  • Experience with architecting and maintaining high availability production systems
  • Experience with developing monitoring architecture and implementing monitoring agents, dashboards, escalations, and alerts
  • Knowledge of security controls for the public cloud (encryption of data in motion/rest and key management)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in index design, query plan optimization, and analysis required
  • Snowflake SnowPro Core certification
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Understanding of data security and data access controls and design aspects
  • Good understanding of Snowflake Time travel concepts and zero-copy cloning, network policies, clustering, and tasks
  • Experience with data integrations with reporting tools such as MicroStrategy and Cognos
