My name is Steven and I'm seeking a private caregiver for my mother who is paralyzed with dementia. For obvious reasons Id prefer a female but willing to consider an experienced male caregiver given the need to move my mother who is about 110 lbs from the bed to a wheelchair. Duties include changing diapers and making sure she is clean, feeding her slowly as she requires assistance with eating, and overall keeping an eye on her as she is unable to move on her own she cannot be left alone. That said, the job can be relaxing as you're available to watch alot of movies or read books or surf the internet - just have my mom close by, she doesnt talk so she wont bother you. My mother needs to be moved to a wheelchair to eat so it is important that you be able to do bed to wheelchair transfers. Normally work hours are from 8AM to 8PM as these are typically my work hours but sometimes my job requires business travel so I need someone willing to be flexible and watch her 24 hours Monday thru Friday. As my mother progresses and moving her becomes more difficult, shell be more bedridden. Previous experience in taking care of someone paralyzed required and be able to clear a background check. Please reply with salary requirements considering I need to deduct payroll taxes via a W2 or 1099.
My mother lives in a separate house from me but I live about 5 minutes away. Youll have a house to yourself and its private on the weekends apart when I go grocery shopping and drop off food for the week. Sometimes Ill ask you buy my mom some food from a local restaurant so she has some variety and Ill either provide a car or reimburse for using your car.
We live about 5 minutes from the San Francisco Bay near Oakland but in a quiet and safe suburb. In the past I found two great caregivers from Las Vegas so Im hoping I find another!
