Role :Desktop Technician Contract Las Vegas NV Day 1 onsite Job Description What will you do?
- Provide support and training to all end users on computer workstation operation, setup, configuration and other issues.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems (Win 10), and Microsoft Office Suite of services.
- Monitor and manage a work queue of incoming requests and provide appropriate customer focused response.
- Develop and maintain an inventory of all computer workstation equipment, peripherals, and spare parts.
- Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware and networked peripheral devices.
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot associated end user workstation software and networking software products.
- Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex computer workstation problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
- Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring computer workstation performance.
- Construct, install, and test customized workstation configurations based on various requirements, platforms, and operating systems.
- Conduct research on computer products, write technical specifications for computer workstations, software and related products, and evaluate/recommend products in support of computer workstation procurement and development efforts.
- Recommend, schedule, and perform computer workstation, software and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
- Develop, manage, and distribute automated software installation packages, transform files and updates.
- Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer workstation needs.
- Develop implementation plans and schedules for new computer projects and new hardware installations.
- If necessary, liaise with third-party computer workstation or software sales and support vendors.
- Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintain current knowledge of plan executables, and respond to crises in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Provide guidance to junior members of the team as required.
- Collaborate with network technicians/system administrators to ensure efficient operation of the computer workstation environment.
- Coordinate, schedule and perform move, add, and change (MAC) requests as department managers submit them.
- Associates degree in computer science or related field and/or 1-2 years equivalent work experience.
- Hands-on computer workstation troubleshooting experience.
- Working technical knowledge of current networking protocols, operating systems, and hardware architecture standards.
- Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
- Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
- Knowledge of ITIL standards desired.
- Certifications in computer operating systems, networking, PC hardware, etc. desired.
- Microsoft certifications are highly desirable.
