Do you love being outside and trail running, hiking, backpacking, camping, rock climbing and backcountry skiing?
Outdoor Store in Truckee, CA is currently hiring an Outdoor Gear Specialist who will help our customers find the best products to meet their needs. We're looking for someone who likes learning about technical gear and apparel, cares about our customers, is knowledgeable about local trails and activities, loves being outside and has a positive attitude. Our summer specialties include running, hiking, camping, backpacking and climbing. In winter, we specialize in gear for backcountry skiing and snowboarding, nordic skiing, snowshoeing and so much more! We have footwear and apparel year round to support all these activities.
Primary duties will include:
Sales and rentals of outdoor gear, footwear and apparel
Learn and be able to explain detailed information about our products
Assist customers with product selection in our store, via phone, and email
Provide knowledge about outdoor activities in Tahoe and around the Sierra
Provide support for in-store merchandising
Attend in-store events and help with promotions
Scheduling is flexible but you must be able to work weekends and holidays.
We are open to creative scheduling that supports your active Tahoe lifestyle. Commitment to stay through Winter is a requirement. Pay for all positions will depend on experience. Tahoe Mountain Sports prides itself on paying a living wage. We like our employees happy and loyal, and we want you to be able to work and live where you play. Flexibility is a must.
