Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a Welder Helper/Firewatch for a 1-day project in Sparks, NV!

PAY: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

HOURS: 7:00AM-4:00PM

SCHEDULE: Day Shift

DURATION: 1 DAY

START DATE: 3/25/2025

We are seeking a Welder Helper/Firewatch to assist the team on Tuesday 3/25/2025. The ideal candidate will have proven firewatch and welding environment experience, with the ability to work in a hot outdoor location. As a Welder Helper/Firewatch, you will play a crucial role in safety and fire prevention.

Job Description:

-Monitor work areas for fire hazards

-Ensure that areas around hot work (e.g., welding, grinding, or cutting) are safe and that no materials or equipment are at risk of starting a fire.

-Maintain vigilance: Watch the work area, including nearby structures, to quickly detect any signs of smoke or flames.

-Alert personnel: In case of a fire or hazard, immediately notify the workers and appropriate emergency services (e.g., fire department).

-Fire extinguisher readiness: Carry fire extinguishing equipment (e.g., fire extinguisher, fire hose) and be trained to use them effectively.

-Ensure compliance: Follow and enforce safety procedures for fire prevention and emergency response.

-Keep fire watch logs: Document times, actions, and observations during the shift and report any incidents or concerns.

-Assist in evacuation procedures: If a fire breaks out, help workers evacuate safely and direct them to the nearest exit.

Skills and Qualifications:

-Knowledge of fire safety: Understanding of fire prevention methods, fire extinguisher types, and emergency procedures.

-Attention to detail: Ability to spot potential fire hazards and take appropriate action.

-Physical stamina: Ability to remain on alert for extended periods, sometimes in challenging conditions (e.g., heat, noise).

-Communication skills: Clear reporting and the ability to communicate effectively with the team and emergency responders.

-Basic firefighting skills: Knowledge of how to use fire extinguishers or other fire suppression equipment.

Additional Requirements:

-MUST be eligible to work in the United States

-MUST have reliable transportation

-PPE consistent with a welding environment
