Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Event Manager to join the Event Services Team at the University of Auckland and take responsibility for the planning, delivery and protocol for events and VIP visits for key clients on campus.

Based in the Vice-Chancellors office you will need to have outstanding client relationship management skills, be confident working with senior managers and able to work on multiple projects at one time. You’ll be known for delivering classy and stylish events.

Reporting to the Event Services Manager, you will work collaboratively with a team of dedicated, innovative and proactive individuals ensuring successful delivery of a wide variety of events – from formal dinners and conferences to managing visits from foreign dignitaries and everything in between.

You will be required to attend relevant planning meetings, serve as a primary point of contact for clients, staff, delegates, event guests and suppliers, and be on-site for the duration of the event.

Qualifications

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

  • Aminimum of 5 years’ experience in an Events role is required and a qualification in Events and / or experience with EventsAir and/or Eventbrite Software is preferred.
  • Experience working within a tertiary institution would also be an advantage.
  • Experience in managing prestigious or VIP events is highly desirable.
