Our Mount Wellington facility is looking to boost its talented team by filling the following position:

Materials Engineer

We are looking for a Materials Engineer to join our team to fill a fulltime permanent role working in our NDT & Materials Engineering facility in Auckland. This is a highly successful NZ and global business that has been well known in the marketplace since the launch in 1976.

Our client base is extensive, and we operate in all major industrial groups from dairy, power generation, oil and gas, chemical, pulp and paper process plants through to constructions, building and light engineering.

Reporting to the Operational Manager the primary responsibility of the Materials Engineer is to carry out materials testing and inspections in accordance with relevant codes and standards to ensure our client requirements are met. This can be testing on a variety of products and components covering: metals, plastics, construction and building materials. As the Materials Engineer you will also be using your specialist knowledge in providing consultancy services to assist our clients with their technical challenges such as in the areas of materials performance testing and failure analysis.

Qualifications

If you have the below qualities we are interested to hear from you:

  • Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude
  • Be tertiary qualified or equivalent experience ideally in the field of materials/ mechanical testing, engineering and/or consultancy.
  • Graduate Engineers will also be considered with studies or interest in these fields.
  • Customer and client service focus.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites around NZ.
  • Able to work well with others in a team environment
  • A current driving licence.

Experience in other fields of engineering such as structural, or mechanical, engineering, will also be considered.
