Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We seek to appoint a Professional Teaching Fellow, to support postgraduate teaching and nursing workforce development in the School of Nursing. The School of Nursing is productive and innovative and strives to provide the most relevant and up to date nursing education possible for its students. We’re now seeking a

full-time Professional Teaching Fellow to support us on a

fixed term contract until December 2024 to develop and deliver a Kaupapa Māori primary health course and oversee Te Ao Māori across all our postgraduate offerings.

You will provide Māori leadership to the Ministry of Health Nurse Practitioner and Enrolled Nursing Workforce Programme including the national Nurse Practitioner Training Programme (NPTP) and the establishment of EN and NP positions in primary mental health care settings.

There is also the opportunity for you to be involved in research activities within the School and this role could offer a pathway into a research role in the future for the right candidate.

He kōrero mōu | About you

To be successful in achieving the outcomes, you will have teaching experience and a current clinical background as well as experience in facilitating student learning, supervising and assessing students’ work and evaluating course content and delivery.

You will also have an intimate understanding of Te Ao Maori me ona tikanga and the relationship management skills to move us forward.

You will hold a recognised postgraduate qualification and it is a requirement that you hold NZ Nursing Council registration, with a current NZ practising certificate.
