Division for Children, Youth and Families under RSA 169-C. Upholds the vision and mission of the agency through utilizing the Practice Model theories, beliefs and principles in daily practice. Reports to the District Office Supervisor.RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides direct supervision to assigned Child Protective Service and other staff in a district office to assure the provision of quality mandated child welfare services. Models behaviors that are consistent with the mission, vision, values and professional code of ethics of the agency.Evaluates the work performance of assigned staff to determine compliance with their job description by setting and clearly communicating expectations for staff performance related to client outcomes and program compliance as well as recommends personnel actions for subordinate employees, including step increases, promotions, disciplinary action, or performance evaluations; approves/denies requests for leave.Assigns work to the subordinate staff to coordinate the equal distribution of workload and can modify work assignments to adjust to crisis and changes in the office.Oversees the preparation of required reports to assure their appropriateness, accuracy and timely submission and as well as ensuring that case documentation in Bridges is up-to-date and complete at all times.Makes important contact with district courts, law enforcement, agencies, and community agencies involved with Child Protective Service Families and works collaboratively with those and other agencies to foster mutual respect and positive relationships.Initiates and maintains interagency/community development activities to enhance provisions of child welfare services to children of families.Interviews and screens applicants in order to participate and assist in the hiring of qualified applicants using the standardized hiring process.Attends scheduled supervisory meetings to receive/disseminate information and to participate in program development as well as conducts unit staff meetings to inform the staff of agency decisions, to explain new policy and encourage upward, downward and lateral communication.Analyze and utilize the month supervisory reports (ASRs and FSSRs) as a method for tracking staff performance, outcomes and engaging in discussions aimed at improving practice.Approves requests for leave from staff to assure adequate case/unit coverage.Ensures that staff completes required core training, including certification as a Solution Based Casework Caseworker/Coach as well as subsequent related trainings and yearly required specialized trainings that are identified in the individualized annual training plans.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Bachelors degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in social work, criminal justice, criminology,psychology, counseling, sociology, behavioral science, human services, or related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may besubstituted for one year of required work experience.Experience: Five years experience in social work, criminal justice, criminology, psychology, counseling, sociology, behavioral science, humanservices, or related field, plus three years of supervisory experience in any
