Job Description

As the Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the daily, monthly and annual financial requirements for SGS Connectivity and Products (C&P). You will also beparticipating in various projects, with a focus on intercompany AR and AP processing and reconciliation.

  • Maintain perpetual reconciliation of intercompany Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable between SGS affiliates’ books versus our North American sub-ledgers (CRS-US and CRS-Canada, collectively, CRS-NA)
  • Support manager and Controller in the month-end closing including journal entries as well as setting up recurring-type entries and allocations for proper amortization of prepaid assets and various accruals. Note: Month-end closings typically require consistent overtime each month.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly and comprehensive work papers on all balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and ad hoc reports to be distributed to senior and General Managers.
  • Maintain and distribute various types of reporting for revenue and order management to senior management and line managers to facilitate client variance analysis and monitoring of key opex metrics.
  • Other ad-hoc financial reporting and accounting-related tasks, as required by the manager and/or Controller.
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance, or a related field of study.
  • At least 2 years of general accounting experience

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of directly transferable and increasingly responsible experience in Corporate Accounting or a specific intercompany-accounting role.
  • 1+ year experience in an Oracle accounting system/environment.
  • Language Skills: English Advanced required including strong written communication skills as this role involves extensive email communication in English to company affiliates and colleagues worldwide
  • Mathematical Skills: Advanced knowledge required
  • Detail-Oriented and Deadline-Sensitive: Proven/demonstrated ability to complete work assignments meticulously and precisely and within clear, pre-posted deadlines.
  • Reasoning Skills/Abilities: Advanced level required
  • Computer Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and PowerPoint
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel required (including Pivot Tables)
  • Ability to read and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively and professionally to the most sensitive inquiries and complaints.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
