Job Description

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Heavy equipment may include wheel loaders, excavators; screening, crushing, and material conveying systems; street sweepers; skid steers; and other heavy equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, inspect, and secure all equipment and perform minor preventative and other maintenance on his/her equipment.

  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform and document daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Perform minor preventative and other maintenance
  • Clean equipment as scheduled or necessary.

This position requires the ability to work overtime and various shifts which may include weekends.

Qualifications

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in soils screening, soil moving, and soil processing operations

  • Experience in using a wheel loader, dozer, excavator, skid steer loaders, and/or other heavy equipment

  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mechanical ability

  • Good work ethic, self-motivated

  • Experience in computerized systems for operations
