Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) and Valley Regional Healthcare (VRH) are separate not-for-profit critical access hospitals and each is a member of the Dartmouth Health system. The organizations are led by a single President and CEO and Mirror Boards of Trustees.MAHHC and VRH are seeking an innovative leader who will be responsible for the overall financial management of both hospitals. The successful candidate will be an effective financial strategist with a track record of successful execution and accomplishing big goals in the hospital setting, fostering sustainable growth, and maintaining positive relationships through strong communication.About the job:The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team for MAHHC and VRH, reporting to the CEO and working closely with other team members to guide and oversee both immediate and future operations. The CFO is responsible for planning and directing the financial services operation, overseeing budgeting and long-term financial planning and supporting the leadership team and Board with meaningful financial information and decision support.The CFO will work to develop and implement financial strategic plans and goals. The CFO is also responsible for developing financial forecasts, budgets, analysis, and recommendations to support decisions related to key business performance measurements. Understanding performance versus operating budgets and presenting overall financial results to drive future decisions and operational improvement are key responsibilities.A key requirement of the CFO is to demonstrate a high level of integrity and foster an overall spirit of cooperation, trust, and respect at all levels. The CFO serves as the liaison to the Finance Committee of the MAHHC and VRH Mirror Boards. The CFO has a secondary reporting relationship to the Dartmouth Health System CFO and is responsible for leading System finance integration efforts at MAHHC and VRH.About Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center:Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center is a 35-bed critical access hospital serving the central Vermont towns of Windsor and Woodstock and surrounding communities. MAHHC provides primary care, specialty services, a therapeutic pool, and an Acute Rehabilitation Center. This Center is the only facility in northern New England to be CARF-accredited in inpatient, outpatient, and stroke rehabilitation programs. MAHHC was recently recognized with a Press Ganey Human Experience Guardian of Excellence Award, recognizing the top 5% of healthcare organizations in patient experience, employee engagement, physician engagement, or clinical quality performance.About Valley Regional Healthcare:Valley Regional Healthcare is a 25-bed critical access hospital serving the healthcare needs of the Greater Claremont community. It is home to emergency and urgent care services, primary care, comprehensive rehabilitation services, and a variety of specialty services including general surgery, infusion therapies, and oncology. The staff at Valley Regional have served our community for more than 130 years with top-notch, accessible care when they need it most.
