Operations Research Engineer will be responsible for developing and analyzing the use cases for AI/ML based factory productivity and supply chain solutions used in semiconductor manufacturing operations. Responsible to support the team of software developers, database architects, and data scientists on developing AI/ML based algorithms for dispatching, scheduling and planning applications. The candidate must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the analytical and domain needs of multiple teams, systems and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing existing solutions and Applied’s company’s vision for our next generation of products and data initiatives. This position can be remote and located anywhere in the US or Asia.Responsibilities

Define and develop use cases for AI/ML based factory productivity and supply chain solutions.

Analyze large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.

Build analytics tools to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.

Work with stakeholders including the product management, engineering and technology teams to assist with optimal data models and interfaces.

Create tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.

Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.

Qualifications

Strong background in semiconductor manufacturing and Industrial Engineering /Operations Research

Experience in developing and implementing factory productivity and supply chain solutions using mathematical programming, simulation software packages

Experienced in Python for data science

Preferred experience of using Applied APF software (RTD, AMA, AutoSched)

Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.

Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured and structured datasets.

Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.

A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.

Strong project management and organizational skills.

Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

5+ years of experience in an Industrial Engineering/Operations Research role, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field.
