Job Description
Defense Contractor Buyer Planner I Merrimack, NH Hybrid schedule Long Term Contract/Contract to Hire Pay: $30-40/hr depending on experience Our Fortune 100 client, located in Merrimack, NH seeks one (1) Buyer Planner (Level II) to join their team in assisting with the purchases for different departments supporting the US Government and Defense Agencies. The Buyer II will be responsible for all materials planning and purchasing activities for assigned products and/or manufacturing work cells to meet the guidelines established by the Master Schedule. Purchase a wide variety of nonstandard, specialized and custom equipment and materials requiring knowledge of electronic and/or mechanical product specifications and sources of supply. Responsibilities & Tasks:- Assure adherence to established procedures, policies, practices, departmental methods, etc., in the performance of clerical/administrative support duties. Provide guidance and assistance relating to basic departmental or group operations and procedures.
- Gather, compile and check information in preparation of departmental reports. Post and record information relative to department/group activity.
- Communicate with various levels of personnel to obtain, exchange, and provide information on behalf of management.
- Prepare and process a wide variety of forms, such as purchase requisitions, expense reports, work orders, etc.
- Maintain all files, records, and documents for area serviced and assure efficient storage and retrieval.
- Coordinate daily and or weekly kit pulling to insure accuracy and timely processing to support production schedules.
- Review, audit, and correct a variety of computer based stock reports to assure accurate information relative to the current status of movement of stock. Such reports may include, but not be limited to: stock status reports, cycle count reports, as well as stockroom short files, transactions, and summaries.
- Take corrective action to locate and recover missing material or identify invalid stock shortages and prepare proper documents to enter corrective information into system.
- Coordinates weekly cycle counts and the reconciliation of any discrepancies.
- Education requirements consist of a high school diploma, vocational training, some college or equivalent experience.
- Experience with IT procurement, specifically Govt procurement (Built to SPEC parts, like transistors, resistors, machine parts, clamps hardware, nuts and bolts for aircraft). Must understand Gov't flow downs, gov't contracts SPEC and off the shelf purchases.
- Understand how to pull drawings and SPECS from approved suppliers- Lockheed, US Govetc
- Ability to document a govt package up to $100k- use Excel, Word and Piot Tables in Excel.
- Experience identifying shortage issues in purchases, make sure purchases match the PO/Invoice
