Alene Candles, LLC is seeking a Line Leader for 1st shift. Line Leaders are responsible for pack out or pour end operations and employees in those zones. This will include but not limited to staffing, training, achieving efficiency standards, insuring a quality product is produced, and achieving scheduled completion dates. Downtime will be tracked by the Line Lead and corrective actions coordinated with the Manufacturing Supervisor. The Line Leader will work with the Assistant Supervisor to insure training is achieved, work orders are communicated, setup are completed, and the right tooling and fixtures are on line for the appropriate jobs. They will answer line calls on equipment, responsible for daily, weekly and monthly PMs, ordering and issuing parts. They will work closely with the Maintenance Department during overhauls and rebuilds and be part of the team for Risk Assessment on new equipment. Will be required to collect and report on key production data as defined by the Manufacturing Supervisor. Will be responsible for 5S and continuous improvement activities on their respective lines and will provide support for department and site 5S and continuous improvement efforts. Sets the example for respectful leadership and cooperation and assists in motivating employees to achieve work goals. NOTE: This is not a supervisory position. Employees will be required to work the line.Job Functions:

Insure safe work environment by communicating safety requirements, auditing, tracking, providing feedback and corrective actions to employees and management.

Follow 5s guidelines

Maintain clean work environment (Production Floor)

Report all unsafe work areas

Clear all lines of obstacles and trash

Expectations are to constantly be observing and promote changes, improvements and sustain.

Performs activities of candle maker when assigned to assist or relieve on an individual basis to avoid shutdown.

Data entry into computer system, logging pallets, conducting in process inspections.

Working with the Pack Technician to set up machines and equipment; communicate with Pack Technician to assure timely and accurate retrieval of necessary materials to maintain production levels.

Maximize line efficiency with minimal direction

Ability to write routine reports

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Ability to read / understand MAP as well as deviations if necessary.

Ability to organize and monitor work flow while achieving quality, efficiency & daily goals.

Maintain/verify line data entry:

Daily date collection

First pass yield

Pallet tags

Rejection report

WO signoffs

Follow 5s guidelines

Maintain clean work environment (all zones)

Report all unsafe work areas

Clear all zones of obstacles and trash

Resolve personnel issues on line

Identify solutions

Recommend actions

Ability to lead & direct all production line operators

Flexibility to run ALL lines as required (A-J, Pack lines)

Use of all hand tools as needed

Ability to utilize hand jack when necessary

Knowledge of wax types & characteristics

Ability to identify issues quickly and implement solutions as needed

Spot defects and identify root cause

Coordinate corrective action with minimal supervision

Work well with multiple departments

Compliance with all safety regulations

Compliance with quality control methods

Ensure all people throughout line are rotated systematically for cross training purposes as well as safety and ergonomic reasons

Knowledge and ability to operate various machines

Ability to communicate equipment issues to maintenance & supervisors

Effective verbal & written communication skills to deliver valuable teamwork.

Rate: $18.00/hrRequirementsRequired Qualifications:

1 year of related experience

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred experience of leading or supervising a team

Knowledge of products manufactured including health and safety regulations

Ability to use various machines and practical skills

Ability to follow and execute instructions

Ability to follow quality control methods

Good communication skills and the ability to be accurate, patient, and responsible
