The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will work consistently and creatively to meet the behavioral needs of students, be responsible for behavioral assessments and development of intervention plans, as well as providing behavioral services in the classroom, including in the Autism Special Class setting. The BCBA will collaborate on the Child Study Team and partner with School Leaders and campus-based Special Education teams to provide related professional development to teachers and staff.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Board-Certified Behavior Analyst will:Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBA) and preference assessmentsUse the result of the FBA to create a function-based behavior intervention plan (BIP)Discuss results of the FBA and the proposed BIP with the school-based staffDevelop appropriate data collection tools to measure student behavioral growthGraph and monitor data for BIP to assess effectivenessProvide training to staff members regarding classroom behavior management techniquesProvide staff and parent training regarding techniques for remediation of behavioral and social challengesProvides training to staff members on implementing BIPsUpdate school-based staff on best practices and adjustments connected to current casesCollaborate with the Child Study Team and campus special education teams to discuss students experiencing behavioral difficulties, serve as a resource, and provide support with a solutions-oriented approachEngages parents in a collaborative and compassionate manner that supports student progressConfer with the appropriate teacher(s) to jointly write an IEP appropriate to the student's needsCommunicate effectively with students, families, and colleaguesRespond to family concerns promptly and effectivelyAdhere to the policies, standards, and school-wide responsibilities described in the Staff HandbookConsistently demonstrate belief in and alignment with Uncommon’s core values and educational philosophyDemonstrate a relentless drive to improve the minds and lives of their students in and out of school
