Job Description

This role is for a high-profile new client at the agency and this AE would have the opportunity to help launch a fully integrated ground-breaking creative campaign. The clients have big ambitions for the brand and we’re hoping to create iconic work that is talked about and celebrated. This AE is someone who gets excited by solving business challenges with strategic thinking and creativity and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves, share their point of view, and help problem solve in all parts of the creative journey.

The AE is the agency’s first-line representative of the account. S/he is the channel through which the agency works to serve and develop its clients effectively and profitably. The AE’s authority extends to all agency staff personnel with respect to making, detailing, and scheduling work assignments for which s/he is responsible.

This person will be a team player and liaison, working across all departments to accomplish clients’ marketing objectives with efficiency. Will have the ability to build client relationships. Will help with the execution of fast-paced video, print, and digital production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Internal

  • Responsible for organizing and maintaining all necessary records on the account Specifically, such records should include:
    • Comprehensive Project Timelines
    • Competitive Copy and Media Records
    • Budgets and Estimates
    • Pertinent Historical Data
    • Presentation Materials
    • Schedule and Flow Charts
  • Responsible for the day-to-day mechanics of the account (legal, trafficking, talent residuals, network clearance, etc)
  • Participates in the development and evaluation of all agency recommendations prior to client presentation. Makes sure that all available data, including pertinent consumer or market research findings, are considered in preparing such recommendations.
  • Is always knowledgeable about the status of all projects of interest within the agency and takes every effort to ensure that work is done effectively and on time. Keeps Account Manager and Account Director informed as to status of projects and alert to any possible problems that could arise. Responsible for the preparation of daily hot sheets, status reports and conference reports
  • Works closely with creative group – obtains and maintains their trust. Keeps then informed as to any changes in client/competitive climate and review and evaluates final creative executions vis-à-vis strategy for Account Manager and Account Director approval.
  • Proactive leadership role with internal/external team and partners to keep projects on schedule, budget, and strategy. Main point of contact across IAT partners to ensure everyone is up to speed.
  • Provides all necessary information for Business Affairs to input estimates into the system

Agency Service

  • Communicates often with the clients to keep them informed on the progress of all work for which s/he is responsible.
  • Obtains client approvals in advance of initiating projects, including identification of target dates and budgets available.
  • Works with the client in the preparation of advertising and marketing plans. With Account Manager, is responsible for the agency’s input in all areas.
  • Develops good relationships with same level clients and internally with agency associates/partners.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or higher.
  • 2-4 years Advertising agency expiries or equivalent in the Account Management or client services function.
  • Enjoys marketing and digital marketing theories and principles and wants to share best practices broadly amongst the team
  • Finds satisfaction in problem solving and meeting commitments with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: the ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Exhibits strong written and oral communication skills
