ROM3 is a three-year-old medical technology company that has created and patented a revolutionary orthopedic rehabilitation device. We have been well-funded, having raised $26.6 million to date and are currently planning for a public offering within the next nine months.
We are looking for an exceptional consultant Electronics Technician in the Boston to Nashua area (Northern MA Southern NH) to work with us on a 6 month project.
In addition to the skills and competencies described below, we seek candidates who are open, honest and candid. Compensation is based on experience, accomplishments, and proven success in this role.
Responsibilities
Assist hardware design & manufacturing engineers in the development and the verification of new hardware for products and production support equipment
Assist hardware design engineers in documentation of hardware design implementation including schematic, PCB layout, bill of material and manufacturing support procedures
Assist hardware design engineers with debug and testing of product returns
Assist hardware manufacturing engineers with maintenance of automated test equipment including annual checkup, firmware/hardware upgrade, and repair of damaged equipment
Organize, maintain and make recommendations for improvement of the Electrical engineering laboratory, and associated stock & supplies
Participate in technical design reviews
Local/regional travel as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in electronics or at least 5 years experience in electronics
Proven experience in electronic assembly including soldering of SMT components
Knowledge of digital and analog electronic components
Proven experience working with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other instruments for diagnostic purposes
Experience with mechanical assembly tools (drill, router)
Ability to work well independently and within groups
Supplemental Qualifications Any proof of experience with the following is valued:
Hardware circuit design of analog or digital circuits
Knowledge of hardware design software such as Orcad or Altium.
Knowledge of mechanical design software such as Solidworks
Worked in R&D environment regulated by FDA, CE and FCC bodies and familiar with process and safety standards required for medical device development (e.g, ISO 13485, IEC 60601)
