We are a technology and engineering firm focused upon the development of high-energy optoelectronic components. We are seeking a self-starting, dependable all-around machinist with 5-7 years’ experience to oversee all aspects of our in-house machine shop.
Applicants must be able to work from Solidworks models to create and produce machined prototype parts using in house HAAS VMC’s and Mastercam X9 with minimal supervision.
This position offers an opportunity to learn and contribute to engineering projects in diverse technology areas. Tasks include:
-Use OEM prints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product.
-Alter, amend (or at times create from scratch) models in Solidworks
-Create and/or program NC files in Mastercam X9 for Solidworks
-Set-up and operate, including tooling optimization, Prototype parts on HAAS SuperMini VMC and PrototrakDPM3
-Perform quality check on finished goods with Calipers, Height gauges and other basic measurement tools
-Assembling and fabricating hardware, test facilities, and prototypes;
-Machine maintenance and equipment upkeep
Professional Requirements
Position requirements include hands on proven experience in CNC Manufacturing and Programming, R&D or Prototyping preferred. A 2-year or 4-year Engineering Technology degree would be beneficial, however self-taught candidates with strong experience will be considered. Proficiency in Mastercam and Solidworks is mandatory.
Successful candidate will have excellent Prototype Development / R&D -Oriented skills including record-keeping, innovation, organization, multi-tasking, attention to detail and strong written/verbal communication skills.
