Job Description:
Durgin and Crowell Lumber Company is looking for a full time Maintenance Mechanic familiar with troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining various mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems at our lumber manufacturing facility and wood pellet mill. This employee must also maintain and repair our fleet and rolling stock assets including cars, trucks, forklifts, bucket loaders, tractors, etc.
Additional requirements:
High school diploma or GED and technical diploma or equivalent training and experience in the field is required.
Applicant should have 3-5 years experience with maintenance in a manufacturing facility.
Good troubleshooting skills and proficiency with interpreting maintenance schedules, drawings, diagrams, manuals, prints, etc.
Preventative maintenance of all assets in the facility in order to maximize production.
Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
Must have a professional attitude and work well with others.
Promote a safe working environment and follow all workplace and job safety procedures.
Driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Physical requirements:
Occasional lifting, pulling or pushing up to 50 pounds.
Continuous walking or standing.
Climbing ladders and working in elevated positions following company safety procedures.
Bending, squatting, climbing stairs and occasionally lifting items above the shoulders.
Ability to work from heights.
Work environment:
Occasionally work in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
Walking on slippery or uneven surfaces from time-to-time.
Hearing protection is required in certain areas of the facility.
Buildings and grounds are non-smoking except in designated smoking area.
