Responsibilities

Registered Nurse, RN/BSN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and if necessary, delegating patient care for a specified group of patients. Collaborates with physicians, medical professionals and other staff to ensure the quality of care. Provides care for the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patient. Utilizes knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient's age to ensure that care provided meets the unique, physical and psychosocial needs of the patient. Involves appropriate parties (i.e., patient's family or guardian, outside agencies) in the assessment, treatment and continuing care of the patient as needed. Assumes a leadership role within the clinical environment. Applies creative solutions to be a positive change agent. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of diagnosis and interventions within area of specialty.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a nursing program from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current license with the New Jersey State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a registered nurse.
  • Current BLS from AHA
  • Interpersonal communication skills (both written and oral) required in order to educate and comfort patients and their families, maintain effective contacts with a variety of hospital personnel and maintain appropriate documentation records.
  • Proficiency in developing a patient's plan of care, implementing effective nursing care and evaluating outcome of nursing interventions.
  • Ability to read and communicate in the English language.
