This includes creating relationships with targeted prospects, understanding which services or technology solutions may benefit them most, and maintaining ongoing relationships with prospects and clients in the private sector, while maintaining a focus on how Spruce can add value to their organizations in the short- and long-term. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, organized, and client-centric individual with a desire to be a part of a small team integral to the firm’s growth. The selected candidate will have wide latitude to pursue opportunities and build relationships, the potential to be exposed to and learn about a variety of technologies, and exposure to key staff with a wealth of backgrounds to provide guidance and support as needed.

Qualifications:
  • 5 – 7 years of private sector sales / business development experience with IT-related firm(s)
  • Strong ability to carry out tasks with very little supervision as an independent contributor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, while organizing and carrying out a number of duties simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills
  • Interest in learning more about technology, with a focus on those most relevant to the firm
  • Availability to work primarily across the Northeast, with a concentration on the New York City metro area; travel outside that region may be required.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop new client relationships; manage, cultivate and expand existing relationships to drive Spruce’s private sector sales revenue.
  • Understand the Spruce service and solution offerings; educate prospects, clients, and partners on the firm’s value proposition, including professional services/solutions, and partner-related offerings.
  • Work closely with the Professional Services delivery team to scope solutions, define statements of work, and develop innovative ways to engage with clients.
  • Leverage industry expertise to influence clients in IT resourcing strategies.
  • Support the Business Development & Strategy team in developing the firm’s sales strategy to increase the pipeline of prospective clients and expand existing relationships.
  • Complete regular internal reporting, including updates to internal CRM system and other status requirements.
  • Assist with developing marketing and sales material, including proposals, SOWs, job descriptions for client staffing needs, website content, client presentations, etc.
  • Contribute to internal process improvements as needed.
