APPLICATION SUPPORT - HELP DESK

CONTRACT: ANTICIPATED LENGTH OVER ONE YEAR

WAGE: $25/HOUR

LOCATION: SOMERSET, NJ

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK DIFFERENT SHIFTS THEY OPERATE BETWEEN 7AM AND 9P

ROTATION ON CALL AS WELL

Summary:

The main function of an application administrator is to manage and support critical business applications to ensure good performance and alignment with business goals. A typical application administrator interacts daily with internal customers and make sure their needs are being met while educating them on internal software products and capabilities, and the liaison with software vendors.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform installation, configuration, administration, patching/upgrades and tuning of software applications. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance on software application-related issues. Coordinate with customers and application vendors on technical issues, upgrades, licensing and maintenance renewals. Develop relationships with employees to better understand their processes and business needs. Partner with IT team members to ensure solid redundancy, recoverability and documentation exist for all critical business systems.

Capacity to communicate clearly and with presence; strong verbal and written communication skills are mandatory. Flexibility in the face of shifting priorities.

Education/Experience:

Bachelors degree in a technical specialty. 2 to 4 years of experience successfully supporting business applications, to include end user support, administration, maintenance and upgrades. Solid understanding of core Microsoft technologies.
