Role: Drupal Architect

Location: East Hanover, NJType: Contract/Fulltime

Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure the design and guidelines principles are followed, and oversee the Web best practices adoption· Coordinate technical activities across multidisciplinary teams located in different time zones· Provide guidance to teams on development standards, automation, and tools· Work in migration strategies to move applications to modern architectures· Ensure that software and deliverables are aligned with the security requirements· Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand technical road blockers· Assist teams in defining and applying best practices for integrations, APIs, and Tooling (Goals/Strategy/Governance)· Review others’ code and mentor team members on development best practices.· Collaborate with technical leads of the product(s) and raise/discuss Design Authority topics· Document technical requirements in user story format· Ensure Code Quality standards and coding guidelines are adhered to· Document, troubleshoot, and resolve issues reported by end-users· Support solution design with internal staff members using experience with Drupal and module development.· Work with others to refactor and implement complex functionality using PHP by helping create custom Drupal modules· Assist with defining and developing automated build, test and deployment systems· Analyse and resolve technical and application issues through debugging, testing and product verification· Support performance of security tests and assessment, track findings and support the product teams to remediate any findings· Secure technology alignment for the solution, liaising between various teams and stakeholders in the Novartis IT landscape· Be the advocate for the specific product in technical governance boards and meetings· Ensure design solutions meet the business needs and associated architecture, while ensuring all aspects are managed in accordance with Client’s ISRM (Information, Security and Risk Management) and technology standards· Train and support COE members in technology concepts and governance on the products/technologies in your field of expertise

Background and Knowledge Drupal.org or GitHub profiles. You should have some evidence of your expertise.· Excellent knowledge in Drupal 8/9 - custom module development and hooks .· Experience integrating and customising Drupal core and contrib APIs, hooks, and events· PHP, HTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, SOAP/REST web services.· Expertise in modern database development (MySQL/MariaDB)· Experience working with a DevOps Team· Experience with Linux/Open Source software· Knowledge of Javascript, JQuery, AJAX· Knowledge of Acquia Hosting - Servers and Configuration. Experience with continuous integration (Jenkins, CI).· Experience implementing/integrating with single sign on (SSO) like SimpleSAML· Experience with search integration(SOLR Search API)· Knowledge of usability/accessibility standards· Experience with large-scale Drupal sites, including load balancing and caching systems (Varnish, memcache, CDN).· Experience working on a distributed team, with knowledge of the habits that make for good distributed work· Knowledge of or experience with API-First CMS Technology (Contentful or similar), a bonus.· Contributor to the community in the form of contributed code to Drupal Modules or Core is an asset.
