Description This contractor position is in support of the FAA's Aviation Weather Office requirement to conduct work for the development of new and enhanced aviation weather capabilities and systems, the sustainment and transition of legacy National Airspace System (NAS) subsystems, and other weather efforts

Expertise and Functions
  • Perform human factors engineering functions for computer human interface (CHI) analyses, assessments of suitability and effectiveness, workload or situation awareness studies, humanin-the-loop scenarios, ergonomics, and kinematics
  • Provides support to Program/Project Manager, Contracting, or mid-level Engineering personnel in the areas of program scheduling, configuration management, finance and accounting, contracting, data analyses, database development or manipulation, preparation of technical/program reports or briefings, test plans and reports, and associated documentation, test or validation/verification assistance
  • Plans/oversees test or project events as assigned by Program Manager or Engineering supervisor, reports status and results
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Education/Training (both required and desired):
    • Bachelor's Degree in applied or experimental psychology, human factors, ergonomics, or industrial engineering preferred
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of professional experience in the required task area specialized experience in aviation or weather systems a plus
    • FAA program experience highly desired
  • Security:
    • Must be a US citizen
    • Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
