Description
This contractor position is in support of the FAA's Aviation Weather Office requirement to conduct work for the development of new and enhanced aviation weather capabilities and systems, the sustainment and transition of legacy National Airspace System (NAS) subsystems, and other weather efforts Expertise and Functions- Provide overall management of personnel working in a technical environment on individual task
- Provide planning, execution, and management of research and development programs focused on cost risk reduction for complex electronically scanned radar systems as well as radar modeling techniques
- Perform technical analysis for components and/or software, risk analyses and assessments of component supportability and design effectives in the context of derived requirements
- Perform analyses for one or more components to include design, fabrication, test, integration, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
- Perform component trade studies to include assessment of technical, schedule, and cost constraints; identify and quantify associated risks
- Perform functional analysis to translate component requirements into hardware and/or software specifications
- Other duties as assigned
- Education/Training (both required and desired):
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related physical science (i.e., Physics or Meteorology) required
- Experience:
- 20+ years of professional experience in the required task area
- Must be proficient in Government contracts and design standards, planning tools (i.e., work breakdown structures, Gantt charts, critical path analyses, PERT charts, etc.), and report development with expertise in radar system research, design, engineering and architecture development
- FAA program experience highly desired
- Security:
- Must be a US citizen
- Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
