Advanced degree in business, quantitative or life sciences preferred.Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in the healthcare industry required.Minimum 2 years’ experience working within a global strategy or portfolio management organization in a matrixed pharmaceutical R and D organization required.Previous experience with portfolio level analytics in a Pharma R and D environment is required.In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical R and D processes over the product life cycle, from discovery to late lifecycle.Knowledge/deep understanding of portfolio management related systems and tools is an asset.In-depth understanding of finance principles.Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, act as a change agent, and adapt to rapidly changing organizational and business needs is required.Innovative thinking and approach - Capable of identifying, adapting, and applying innovative and creative methodologies.Self-starter, independent thinker with significant experience working in a highly matrixed environment.Must be willing and able to travel approximately 10%.Job Description:

The SPO Manager will work closely with the Strategy and Operations Support Leader (SOSL) in developing strategy and will be responsible for the execution of strategies in support of the Established Products (EP) business objectives. This individual will think strategically and contribute to the creation of value, driving productivity and the sustainability of the GMO’s mission.Responsibilities for the Strategy and Operations include:Strategy Development - Assists the SOSL and Head of EP in articulating the strategic direction for EP, including key focus areas, goals and objectives, and strategic initiatives to drive cross-functional and cross-regional alignment, accountability and commitment necessary to provide value to patients and business.Strategy Execution - Lead the development and successful execution of strategic initiatives under mentorship from the SOSL.Portfolio Management – Responsible for developing portfolio analyses and insights to proactively address key business questions and guide decision-making.Business Planning and Execution – Assists with financial planning, management and tracking EP business plans.Digital Solutions – In partnership with Business Unit IT Lead and other partners, oversee ongoing and new development opportunities to enhance the EP Integrated Information Network (EPiiN); Maintain the EP SharePoint site; Oversee the Work Request Application improvements and maintenance; Seek new digital strategies, solutions and tools to support EP’s business.Communication - Collaborate seamlessly across the various functional and regional departments to ensure that news stories and other information impacting EP’s business is disseminated through multiple communications channels.Process Improvement - Drive more efficient and effective processes by identifying, planning and executing EP business requirements aligned with global processes. Ensure that best practices and innovations are incorporated into the organization’s thinking and are being utilized.Talent Development – Explore and implement techniques for creating motivated and focused teams, aligned with organizational talent development goals and with company policy.Innovation - Identify, define, and promote business cases for innovative capabilities that support the organization’s long-term vision – collaborating with cross-functional and cross-regional members to ensure broad-based thinking and sharing of best practices.CREDO-based Leadership - Assists in the growth of the GMO culture through mentoring, guidance and role-modelling.
