CACI is looking to hire Senior Optical Investigators to work on varies programs where CACI is experiencing growth. If you have skills in the area of fiber optics, fiber lasers, high-power bulk lasers, optical communications, nonlinear optics, ultrafast lasers, spectroscopy, integrated photonics, and RF photonics; we would like to talk with you!

The Photonics team is expanding! Our laser communications technology is helping NASA provide high-definition video from the International Space Station, and to explore asteroids 250 million miles away. Our other optical technology can also help scientists discover biohazards; support intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions; and protect soldiers from explosive devices. What You'll Get to Do:
  • Optical design for programs that develop new photonic technology and custom hardware for free-space optical communications, laser transmitters for remote sensing, RF photonics, and other applications
  • Using both commercial and internally-developed tools, model key phenomena as needed for optical design work, often including a combination of rare-earth amplifier physics, light propagation in optical fibers or integrated optical circuits, and nonlinear optics
  • Hands-on development and testing of custom optical systems
  • Support the growth of the LGS photonics team by contributing new ideas for the technical growth of our organization, and contributing to proposal creation
  • Interact with Government customers during formal program reviews and throughout the program lifecycle
  • If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the duties of the position

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • PhD in optics, physics, or a related field, or master's degree and a minimum of 3 years of additional related experience
  • At least 3 years of experience with one of more of the following: fiber optics, fiber lasers, high-power bulk lasers, optical communications, nonlinear optics, ultrafast lasers, spectroscopy, integrated photonics, and RF photonics

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • PhD in optics, physics, or a related field

Working Conditions:Work is typically performed in an office and lab environment which requires proper safety precautions. Work requires some physical effort in the handling of materials, boxes, or equipment.
