Software Engineer
Job Category: EngineeringTime Type: Full timeMinimum Clearance Required to Start: SecretEmployee Type: RegularPercentage of Travel Required: Up to 10%Type of Travel: Continental USWe are looking for Software Engineers, preferably with experience (or strong interest) in networking and cybersecurity to join a team of Network Security Research Engineers within our National Security & Innovative Solutions (NSIS) sector. You'll perform tasks involving research & development, software engineering, application vulnerability analysis, and network penetration testing. The ideal candidate will be passionate about adopting new technologies and tackling new challenges. She/he will not be satisfied with perfecting a small component of an extremely large system, but instead have a preference to understand all the intricacies and components of a smaller system, end-to-end. She/he will be eager to work in a collaborative environment but have the ability and comfort to complete tasks autonomously.What You'll Get to Do:Alongside a subject matter expert, perform the following:- Software Engineering
- Research and Development
- Network penetration testing
- Open source information gathering
- All source fusion and analysis
- Develop tools to perform automated tasks
- Develop visualization tools to summarize findings
- Create briefings to convey results to technical and non-technical audiences
- Basic computer science and/or networking skills which may include knowledge in IP networking, cybersecurity and software engineering
- Proficient in one or more of the following languages: C, C, Java, Go, and Python.
- Willingness and ability to quickly become proficient in new technologies
- Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
- MUST HAVE an Active Secret clearance to start, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance once started.
- MUST BE A US CITIZEN, due to the government clearance requirements.
- Familiarity with software security concepts such as intrusion detection, cryptography, authentication, firewalls, secure coding practices a plus.
- Understanding of network hardware, systems and software applications a plus.
- Knowledge of Internet routing techniques protocols and tools a plus.
