Job Description SummaryBusiness Development Services Manager will work with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to accelerate their combination product development program by offering a broad range of Services and Solutions.Ideal candidates will have an entrepreneurial mindset to identify and target new growth areas and then facilitate the close of that business. Responsible for the sale of all BDM PS Services across all platforms to pharmaceutical or medical device accounts, developing new business relationships through his /her territory.This position is reporting to the Global Business Director, Services and SolutionsIn tandem with the BD Pharmaceutical Systems Sales organization, he/she will establish strong working relationships with customers and serve as a go-to-partner in providing consultative support, enabling new customer-centric solutions, defining combination product development requirements, maintaining business relationships, overseeing the sales and delivery of services.Job DescriptionBe part of something bigger!BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world and is advancing the world of health by improving medical discovery, diagnostics and the delivery of care. Achieve or exceed the sales goals as established in the annual or multi-annual plan for the territory, based on growth rate consistent with the average of the reference markets

Prepare customer proposals and statements of work with company technical experts to support customer combination product development requirements

Collaborate and work directly with BD commercial and technical resources as required to support customer activities

Develop and obtain approval for business case for customized offers

Plan and organize all travel for account visits to maximize the account coverage, optimize use of their time and other attendees, and respect expenses budget.

Establish detailed working relationships with all customer contacts - provide best in class service level to the customer

Develop an in-depth knowledge of all existing accounts and relevant knowledge of new/emerging accounts in their area of responsibility and the key decision-making personnel within these accounts.

Approach opportunities with customers with a problem-solving mentality and develop effective solutions with all supporting functions (Technical development, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Quality, RnD)

Maintain records and reporting systems as required for the general operation of the business.

Maintain such records and reports in a current condition and observe prudent good business practices in assuring that such materials are kept in a manner that permits easy access, review, and use as required.

Prepare and maintain customer profiles on each and every customer in the area of responsibility.

Facilitate customer meetings to drive territory strategy in support of region or global account strategy

Prepare and issue sales meeting minutes and reports as required

Work with management to prepare monthly sales and opportunity forecasts

Prepare and manage commercial and confidentiality contracts.

Prepare and submit an Annual Plan for assigned accounts including unit sales forecast and written comments on either opportunities or threats.

Manage and support special project initiatives as assigned.

Manage proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements, proposal development, and inputs from various sources

Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen/qualify potential business opportunities, select the deals in line with strategies, and lead and facilitate sales logistics (i.e. internal/external customer visit preparation)

Support deal structure and pricing with business/market-based value analysis; negotiate prices for proactive bids and proposals

Motivate team, track performance, and report metrics

Qualifications:BS/BA in Business Management, Engineering or Physical Sciences.

3-5 years of sales experience within medical / pharmaceutical industry

Experience in the pharmaceutical, combination product, or pharmaceutical services industry

Ability to travel approximately 30-40% of the time within Canada, the US, Europe, and Mexico as required.
