Lead Business Partner, Procurement, EHS, Product Stewardship, and SustainabilityJob Description SummaryThe role of the Lead, Business Partner, Procurement, EHS, Product Stewardship and Sustainability is to serve as the person responsible for driving the shaping of demand as well as the delivery of Technology & Global Services (TGS) solutions for the Procurement, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Sustainability functions globally. This individual will serve as a point person to Procurement, EHS, and Sustainability leadership and will lead a team of business partners to conduct analysis, prepare appropriate solution direction and manage the work. Above all, this individual will be required to collaborate with internal and external experts to ensure that the Procurement, EHS and Sustainability functions are proactively provided with strategic thought leadership and are shaped, prioritized, and delivered. This is a great opportunity for someone to facilitate bringing the appropriate technology, process and workplace solutions together as they contribute to the commercial agenda of BDX.

This leadership position reports directly to the overall TGS Central Teams Business Partner for Integrated Supply Chain and will serve on the leadership teams of the Procurement, EHS and Sustainability and TGS Central Teams, Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) organizations. Job Description

The objective of this role is to actively partner with the Procurement and EH&S teams to understand their strategic priorities and work to identify ways that TGS can support and advance those objectives.

Primary responsibilities will include:
  • Develop a deep knowledge of Procurement, EHS, Product Stewardship, and Sustainability including key driver goals, short- and long-term roadmaps, key personnel, etc.
  • Establish and earn value-adding, strategic partner relationship maturity for yourself and for the entire TGS function
  • Partner with Procurement, EHS, Product Stewardship and Sustainability leadership in planning new joint initiatives, evaluating proposals, and determining how they fit into roadmaps and priorities
  • Identify and define new opportunities to leverage technology and/or process re-design to advance business strategies that directly drive revenue growth, cost optimization and/or risk mitigation and compliance.
  • Develop strategies for optimal deployment and adoption of new technology capabilities, services, and solutions across the business and/or the end customers.
  • Manage and facilitate TGS partner teams to ensure delivery provides the desired outcomes
  • Partner with Segments, Regions, and Central Business Partners to integrate Procurement, Product Stewardship, EHS, and Sustainability initiatives across the enterprise to accelerate BDX
  • Work with other TGS Business Partners and TGS' Core Areas of Delivery to ensure that solutions are not siloed and that they are informed by, and are integrated with, BD's enterprise roadmaps
  • Ensure project and initiative progress, including consistent and effective communication. This includes managing escalation and avoiding risk
  • Measure and communicate value realized on a periodic basis through defined and agreed upon metrics and supporting analysis
  • Serve as a continuous connector. Energized by a role that is focused on partnership and facilitation. Operates through the lens of what can we do to simplify and improve things

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEThe ideal candidate will bring a combination of strategic understanding, resilience, business and technology experience, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a solution-oriented mindset. In addition, this person should also possess:
  • 10+ years of experience in a business, including work in a technology function
  • Accomplished in multiple process and technology capabilities across Procurement, Product Stewardship, EHS, and Sustainability, including but not limited to: Direct/Indirect Procurement (i.e. Supplier Information Management, Supplier Quality, Sourcing, Contracting, Purchasing, Invoicing & Disbursement, Reporting), and EHS and Sustainability (i.e. Occupational Health, Product Stewardship, Chemicals Management, Waste Management)
  • Accomplished in multiple process and technology capabilities across Procurement, with a focus in Direct Procurement, to include: Sourcing (Bidding, Contracting, Supplier Management), Purchasing (Requesting, Purchasing, Receiving), Payment (Invoicing, Payment) and Reporting (Analytics, Compliance, Risk, Diversity)
  • Experience working with the following Technology solutions: SAP ERP (SAP ECC6.0, S4 HANA, PowerBI), Arravo, Sievo, Optura (Invoice Management SAP), etc.
  • SAP Implementation experience is preferred with familiarity on Procurement integration with other SAP Modules (i.e. Inventory Management, Finance, Sales and Distribution), Data Management (i.e. SAP MDG) and Third-Party Tools (i.e. Sabrix Tax, EDI/IDOC Interfacing)
  • Experience with enabling the digital procurement at an enterprise is highly desirable
  • Ability to influence and break down silos within an organization as well across organizations
  • Ability to map joint organizational vision and long-term thinking, imagination, and idea generation
  • Ability to communicate complex business / technical challenges in a simplified manner
  • Must be a leader who can influence stakeholders in written and oral communications
  • Must have experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies and have the ability to formulate new programs to generate excitement and engagement
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement and project management approaches, tools, and phases
  • Exceptional ability to lead change using positive and collaborative methods
