Job Description Summary

The Project Manager, Regulatory Affairs Operational Strategic Excellence Center (RA OSEC) is responsible for driving implementation of and adherence to best practices in project management. The Project Manager will support and manage projects within the corporate Regulatory Affairs function. The individual leads the project planning process and ensures strategic business objectives are met by the most efficient use of budget and resources.

This role requires close partnership between different functions, business units, and regions. This individual will partner with teams to deliver on the strategy of achieving industry leadership, process efficiency, standardization, problem solving, predictability, and ingraining a cultural mindset of continuous improvement. This individual will develop performance metrics and tracking mechanisms for timely monitoring and reporting of project performance.

Functional/Organizational Summary

Under the direction of Regulatory Affairs Operational Strategic Excellence Center (RA OSEC) this position will be working directly with several BD Business Units. The Business Unit teams will include Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Operations, and Quality. It is also expected that there will interactions with Corporate Supply Chain and Corporate Quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Quantify, and prioritize the various initiatives to ensure that work is allocated efficiently and on budget

  • Track overall metrics, completion rates, and ongoing analysis track all project milestones.

  • Ensure that the Project Log is completed

  • Provide essential communications to Business Units, Countries, and Functions.

  • Balance the workload across various initiatives in several countries to meet multiple implementation dates.

  • Drive the overall schedule

Basic Qualifications:

  • The ability to function effectively and achieve results in a large matrix organization

  • Excellent analytical and written/verbal communication skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex issues

  • Demonstrated ability working with product master data

  • Must be adept utilizing Microsoft Project

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • PMP Certified

  • Prior experience in Life sciences industry (Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, or Bio-Tech)

  • Experience in Regulatory, Quality, Operations, or R&D is preferred

  • Knowledge of Medical Device and IVD development process as well as product life cycle maintenance is a plus

  • Experience using SAP, JDE, TrackWise, Master Control, WMS systems, Product Technical Files, and Labeling Systems is highly desired.
