NO The Senior Systems Engineer will support the organization’s patch management processes and operational activities. This role entails overseeing a Managed Service Provider (MSP), coordinate patching with applications teams, be the escalation point for patching issues, establish and document procedures, investigate vulnerability solutions and maintain security compliance. In addition you will be actively involved with operational tasks such as troubleshooting and break/fix issues, along with continuous improvement projects to stabilize and standardize the environment. You will use your strategic thinking and strong analytical skills to work with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, IT peers, engineering, outside vendors and additional 3rd parties to ensure operating systems and supported frameworks are secure and up to date.Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, diagnose and fix enterprise-level technologies
- Be directly involved with operational activities
- Ability to work with diverse infrastructure and application teams
- Rectify patch deployment issues
- Make recommendations for availability, performance, stability and process improvements
- Document processes and procedures
- Delivering projects on time and on budget
- Off-hours support as needed
- Strong knowledge of Windows server operating systems
- Strong knowledge of VMware hypervisors
- Knowledge of VMware vROP’s, vRA and Log Insights
- Working knowledge of Puppet a plus
- Knowledge and experience with patching in general, WSUS in particular a plus
- Familiarity with InsightVM's Rapid 7 a plus
- Experience with HPE hardware a plus
- Project management experience
- Able to work with external vendors
- Experience with change management
- Knowledgeable in a diverse and broad range of server-class technologies
- Experienced with managed service providers (MSP)
- Excellent communications skills
- Organized, detail oriented person
- Ability to work independently or as a member of a technical team
- Self-motivated, able to produce and perform with minimal supervision
