Job Title

Metadata Manager

Description:

As Metadata Manager, you will help to execute the establishment of a strategic framework across Wealth Management businesses to drive the content creation, capture, storage, search and integration capabilities of an array of global client and employee-facing systems. You will support a close collaboration with business and operations Subject Matter Experts, Product Owners and the Chief Data Office specialists who will implement an extensible data model that becomes the trusted foundational reference data source for all Wealth Management content. You will assist in the execution of a change management process and governance model to ensure the Content Taxonomy structure & Meta Data definitions are accurately and consistently applied, and remain current over time.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Help to define data profiling, metadata documentation, data lineage, and data transformation rules in support of key program deliverables.
  • Assist in creating, implementing and enforcing a taxonomy and metadata inventory that satisfies Wealth Management needs across LOBs/geographies.
  • Meet data management needs of internal and external clients by leveraging and establishing data model standards and best practices, which include problem research/resolution and customer education.
  • Asist in the building of strategic model solutions including transformation rules and attribute relationships.
  • Participate in defining, loading, and maintaining Taxonomy Content templates, in developing controlled vocabularies of Meta Data and Attributes, and in user acceptance testing and production validation testing of Taxonomy enhancements and cross impacts
  • Work with technology feature teams to define/implement technical solutions; engage with tech resources across Agile ceremonies
  • Partner with product and tech teams to support content digitization and client self-service.
  • Understand business vision and customer needs and identify solutions to fulfill them through the taxonomy and business processes; ensure taxonomy and meta data attributes are client/user focused
  • Partner with content creators and users across the organization, leveraging existing definitions and best practices, where applicable, including AWM and Firm-wide Chief Data Office teams.
  • Participate in the taxonomy governance cross-functional working team, assist in addressing the new request queue, and contribute to the day-to-day implementation, maintenance, and governance of the taxonomy.
  • Proactively communicate with stakeholders to ensure awareness and promote adoption

Qualifications

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge

  • Minimum:
    • At least 3 years of experience in knowledge management designing and implementing taxonomies/ontologies or related experience preferred.
    • At least 2 years working with technology teams to define and implement technical solutions to solve business needs
    • 1 year of Project Management experience
    • Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Library Sciences or Information Management.
    • 1+ years of experience executing in Agile methodology (familiarity with Jira boards and Scrum ceremonies)
    • Practical use of tools and software to extract and analyze data (e.g., Excel, Alteryx, etc.); moderate knowledge of data modeling tools/methods to support recommendations.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience developing & managing product taxonomies for business (e.g., e-commerce or retail)
    • Familiarity with Asset & Wealth Management businesses, systems, tools, processes
    • Master's degree in Library Sciences or Information Management

  • Experience using taxonomy management systems to maintain categories, attributes, and other metadata.
  • Ability to think at a high level about product strategy and vision and then apply that to coordination of and application to detail level, and to recognize/assess potential ramifications
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to present complex technical and metadata information in a clear and concise way to a range of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to work on ambiguous projects and deliver effectively in customer-focused, cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflicting and changing priorities
  • Demonstrated analytic and diagnostic skills ; t echnical background / proficiency delivering technical solutions helpful
  • Ability to build alignment amongst distributed stakeholders and influence others

  • Experience working with colleagues across different countries around the world
