Why You'll Love This Job: The data engineering team ensures stability, resiliency, and performance of the overall data ecosystem in DTCC. The Director - Data Engineering is in an individual contributor that provides guidance and hands on expertise on a broad set of data engineering capabilities, encompassing storage, transport and visualization layers. A key responsibility of this role is to closely partner with the individual service owners of the respective technologies, create the product roadmap and work closely with the engineers to deliver the roadmap by developing reusable components, troubleshooting issue when needed and providing industry best practice guidance.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for the overall technical architecture, engineering, design, implementation, and platform support
  • Research and evaluate broad emerging technology trends and how they impact the technology direction of the organization
  • Identify opportunities and provides guidance in design and implementation of data products.
  • Collaborates with engineers, companywide, to implement new features, at large-scale, while improving internal engineering standards, tooling, and processes
  • Builds cross-functional relationships with Product Managers and Software Engineers to understand and deliver on functionality and capability needs

Talents Needed for Success:
  • 12+ years of experience with database technologies such as Oracle, SQLServer,5+ years of years of experience in Aurora PostgreSQL, 5+ years of experience in ETL and Data Quality tools, and 5+ years of experience in managing leading Business intelligence platforms.
  • Deep expertise in performance management, troubleshooting and development of tools and processes to sustainably manage data transport and database performance.
  • Expert in designing and implementing capacity management framework.
  • Ability to understand business use cases and provide guidance on the use of technology, replication and archival strategy, high availability, and DR solution options.
  • Thorough understanding of on-premises and public cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong engineering and technology background and DevOps mindset with the ability to learn quickly and go deep into our product and engineering solutions
  • Skilled with leading troubleshooting & root cause analysis.
