Lead AEM Platform Engineer

As an expert of the AEM platform, lead technical design and implementation efforts that leverage the core capabilities of the platform, bringing innovative solutions and experiences that meet/exceed business goals and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the technical design, development, code reviews for Adobe Experience Manager (Sites, Assets, and Forms) solutions
  • Working with business analysts, translate creative designs into functional requirements and technical designs
  • Working with the ASM and Development team, provide guidance on implementing appropriate monitoring, alerting, and measurements to ensure the health of our environment
  • Working with the Digital DevOps team and QA teams to instrument and implement effective automation realizing both increased productivity and quality
  • Determine feasibility and scalability of AEM to solve business needs, interacting with business and product owners in order to define technical solutions
  • Develop templates, components, dialogs, workflows, models, and services, OSGi services, optimization of dispatcher caching behavior as needed
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team on software development best practices using clean code, solid architecture and craftsmanship
  • Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party systems as part of the overall architecture
  • Promote and codify platform/cloud architectural best practices
  • Model strong disciplinary skills through documenting solutions and techniques, ensuring information is available to the team through technical notes and internal knowledge base
Required Skills
  • 5+ years of Experience in full cycle AEM implementations using version 6.4+ (AEM component development, Asset workflow development, Schedulers, Metadata & Tag Management plus integrating AEM with other applications)
  • 3+ years of Experience in AEM touch UI/modern components
  • Experience integrating Adobe Experience Manager (Sites, Forms, and Assets) with other enterprise solutions
  • 8+ years of software development experience using Java/JEE, Spring, TDD and related frameworks
  • 5+ years of front-end development using JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Adobe Certified Master - Adobe Experience Manager Sites Architect
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills
  • Excel at communicating (spoken, written, presentation) with an ability to express technical concepts in business terms
  • Ability to negotiate and navigate difficult or ambiguous situations, adapt and work effectively with a variety of situations, individuals and technologies
  • Degree in a STEM or Business field or equivalent
  • Takes ownership and accountability
  • Ability to work as part of a distributed product team
  • Forward thinking; ability to identify potential risks and issues, proactively providing recommendations for mitigating
  • Actively participate and collaborate within Agile teams to effectively plan and execute deliverables for each sprint
  • Embraces diversity and inclusion of thought
  • Ability to work across boundaries, building cross organizational relationships
  • Strong desire to develop and advance own skills through self-study, hands-on and shadow learning, formal instruction

Preferred Skills
  • Hands-on development Java/J2EE, servlets, and web services, spring framework
  • Hand-on development of CRX/JCR, Apache Sling, Apache Felix, and OSGi frameworks
  • Hands-on developing AEM sites, AEM Adaptive Forms, DAM, templates, components, dialogs, workflows, models, and services
  • Expert in integration with third party and other Adobe solutions using REST APIs
  • Expertise in build automation using Maven and Maven release process
  • Expertise in advanced dispatcher and CDN caching strategies
  • Expertise in application performance testing, unit testing and automated testing tools
  • Expertise with cloud infrastructure and application security best practices
  • Experience with other Adobe Marketing Cloud products (Target, Analytics, Campaign) preferred
  • 2+ years in cloud adoption using AWS and experience using Route 53, VPC, Subnet, ELBs, EC2 instances etc.
  • Experience with tools that advance our Agile and DevOps practices
