Location: Jersey City, NJ (New Jersey) (Primary), Lebanon, NJ (New Jersey), New York, NY (New York)

The SDET Lead will manage test life cycle activities within New York Life 'Investments' business unit in complying with the organization's QA processes. Some key responsibilities are to drive and lead our functional automation testing of underlying application , support UAT and implement innovative test automation solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the testing process while demonstrating a sense of leadership and also guide the testing team.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Define, prepare, and monitor end to end testing for the defined job scope
  • Review and drive test strategies and test plans to ensure test processes adherence
  • Execute testing activities projects meeting timelines aligning to project plan
  • Identify and perform non-functional testing based on project scope and effectively engage with matrix team in the larger organization for execution
  • Manage vendor team testing activities in a global delivery model (offshore heavy)
  • Guide testers in testing approach and demonstrate leadership by example
  • Lead end to end defects management and analyze the root cause identified with the larger project teams
  • Provide strategic and tactical improvements of test management standards and procedures
  • Responsible for administrative review/approvals following organization policies and procedures
  • Provide input and coordinate with stakeholders to build and manage a project plan, timelines, and budget

Skills Required
  • College Graduate Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems/Business Management or other related fields
  • 9-15+ years of overall experience, of which at least 5 years are in a QA / QE environment
  • Expert level knowledge in test automation solutions, including the ability and knowledge to be hands-on
  • Strong SQL knowlegde
  • A basic to moderate understanding on UNIX
  • Excellent understanding of SDET processes and best practices
  • Investment/Asset Management domain knowledge and background a plus
  • Should have experience in using JIRA, and test management tools
  • Should have the experience and demonstrated level of comfort to be able to lead a team of 6-8 offshore-based resources
  • Strong leadership, collaborative and solid communications skills to manage our internal business and stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively lead a team under challenging situations

Desired Skills:
  • Prior developement experirence a plus
  • Prior exposure to Tableau is a plus
