Cognos Developer
Hybrid - Jersey City, NJ Compensation Range : $45-$52/hour The individual will be working with their team of developers to analyze business requirements, design code, integrate and maintain business technology solutions to aid in the general businessWhat You'll Do:- Provide first line support for Cognos reports
- Design, Code and Test Cognos reports
- Develop efficient PL/SQL stored procedures
- Support multiple in-house and 3rd party software deployments
- Work with the users and team members to build consensus for software projects
- Apply knowledge of fixed-income securities to analyze business requirements
- Work effectively with the business users and the development team members
- Manage and meet project schedules
- Ensure internal standards, such as the SDLC, are followed when developing projects
- Comply with all policies and procedures as set forth in the IS Policies and Procedures
- Investigate and analyze new technologies, programming languages and third-party solutions, which could provide cost effective business solutions
- Switch effectively between several tasks
- Solve complex business problems using a variety of software solutions
- Provide support for annual audits of the department from external and internal auditors
- Learn and apply new technologies to streamline business processes
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science preferred
- MS/MBA Degree is desirable
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in report writing and Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
- Cognos Development experience
- Kowledge of Java, .NET, or other languages is a plus
- Knowledge of financial services is a plus
- Knowledge of the SDLC
- Excellent verbal and Written communication skills
