Title: API Lead Application Integration ArchitectDuration: 6 months Temp to Perm.Location: Jersey City preferred (remote is fine too for the duration of the contact only)

With operations in 54 countries, our client provides commercial and personal property and casualty insurance, personal accident and supplemental health insurance, reinsurance, and life insurance to a diverse group of clients.

The Advanced Engineering department has a need for a well-experienced Application Integration Architect to lead the integration of Open Source based inhouse platforms using Apache Camel, Apache Camunda, Apache Drools, Elastic ELK, Docker, and Kubernetes. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and drive a group of engineers to help scale to adopt enterprise-wide as we roll out new integrations with different business lines.

The incumbent will work closely with our platform specialists who provide support for all of the departments' platforms including their integration with open-source, Renewals Framework and Speed to Market Products.

Responsibilities• Develop flexible, adaptable, modular, and reusable business solution designs in collaboration with product delivery and engineering teams• Account for an end to end products delivery - Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Architects, and Engineers to ensure alignment of program deliverables to the defined solution• Work with developers closely to review code, enforce best practices, debug critical issues, and conduct performance testing to deliver efficient and performant applications• Build high performing relationships, drive business engagement, manage expectations, align with senior leadership, and work teams on initiative deliverables• Identify technology risk and corresponding mitigation strategies• Implement appropriate solution architecture governance processes and tools as defined by enterprise architecture while ensuring the solution focuses on design patterns and technology standards• Adopt Agile and DevOps practices in collaboration with the business, architecture group, program management, and operations teams• Explore, evaluate and promote technology innovation within the enterprise• Evaluate, learn, and assist teams with open source technology solutions• Create hands-on engineering/architecture experience• Guide and mentor development teams on sound design and coding principles, best practices in APIs, Micro Services, and Cloud environments

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities• Bachelor's Degree, Computer Science or Engineering degrees preferred• Hands-on Technical Lead who is comfortable working with architects on the solution architecture /design and with engineers to develop detailed design level, implementation, deployment, and testing of the code• Coding experiences and skills required –Java/.Net, Sprinboot, ELK, Kafka, MQ, Docker, Kubernetes, API Management (API-M) and Drools Rule Engine, Apache Camel, Camunda, and Azure Cloud• Hands On experience with Kafka, Camel, ELK, Spring Boot Java, Volante/XSLT 3.0 + Kubernetes/Docker Containers• Experience in complex systems integrations to build the automation solutions• Experience with workflow automation implementations using Business Process Management(BPM) tools like Open Text App Works is preferred• Experience in Integration Architectures from Service Bus to API Mediation and Event Bus models; Working Experience with API management tools like Azure API-M• Experience in cloud solution design and implementation of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS and hybrid models• Basic Kubernetes Docker, Linux, Azure skills; must have hands-on Camel skills• Exception and Log Management• Detailed Analysis of requirements• Breakdown of reusable components for the framework for each business process step• Detailed Design flow and documentation of orchestration logic in details• Mapping needs and documentation• Design Custom vs Reusable components• Hands-On research to support development (POC, Sample Codes, Best Practices)• Tap on and consult best practices and standards from the open-source practice organization for integrations• Standard Message format development for end to end solution flow (Kafka messaging)
