Job Summary:

The Digital Product Management team has responsibility for solving human, technology, and business problems with innovative solutions. This role drives the product strategy, product roadmap development, and market delivery/operation of the product offering in assigned business segment. The Senior Digital Product Manager will work closely with business peers and digital product management team members to effectively execute against digital initiatives including Partner Products, digital solutions, APIs, and Enterprise Technologies to drive efficiencies through automation. The incumbent will be an experienced dynamic, multidimensional digital professional who is strategic, technology savvy, focused on innovation, and skilled in both product strategy and operational efficiencies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the product vision and strategic development process for assigned business segment to include product roadmap development and periodic review processes
  • Perform market research, market validation and whitespace analysis to identify new opportunities for driving technology innovation and streamlined integrations
  • Foster close relationships with key market constituents to validate product strategy and roadmap
  • Deeply understand the business case for proposed products and initiatives in assigned business segment, including cost/benefit estimates, market trends, emerging tech/insurtech, competitive and risk analysis, industry best practices and product development timelines.
  • Prepare business case (financial/ROI) analysis to quantify & determine the value to the company of a current or potentially new system/application
  • Plan, prioritize, and manage the product features and requirements from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize revenue and meet operational, financial and corporate objectives in assigned business segment.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and project management teams to ensure consistent execution of product plans following established software development methodology and processes that result in product delivery on time and in budget. Partner with business and technical teams to plan and prioritize system release and specific release content
  • Engage business partners to develop and execute action plans to address gaps
  • May mentor other Product Managers to accomplish results; provide training

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of emerging technology and automation solutions to reduce waste and drive efficiency
  • Technical understanding of integrations with APIs
  • A background in insurance industry technology
  • Broad understanding of usability and user experience best practices, with a strong focus on digital enablement and APIs
  • Broad experience synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data to drive decisions for building best in class digital products
  • Broad experience delivering enterprise class software products and digital enablement for a national multi-cultural audience
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle development
  • Broad experience defining digital content experiences and the value to customers
  • Strong ability to evaluate, analyze and interpret the voice of the customer through a variety of data sources
  • Ability to be both strategic and tactical in day to day interactions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of digital channels and platforms (e.g., digital, client PC, partner products, social, video)
  • Strong understanding of technologies/architectures utilized in the industry and assessing their impact
  • Strong diplomatic and consensus building skills
  • Strong ability to convey technical concepts in a clear, understandable way
  • Strong ability to overcome internal barriers and negotiate resource constraints to produce successful digital initiatives
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Relevant experience working with 3rd party vendors to deliver results and design and architect solutions that solve problems
  • Strong ability to establish credibility, influence and effective working relationships with peers and stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to interact and partner at all levels across the organization
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven and rapidly changing environment.

Education & Experience:

  • Required knowledge & skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelor's Degree in business, computer science or related field (or equivalent in experience) with 7 to 10 years or related experience.
