Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Financial Operations Analyst for a contract assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in Jersey City, NJ. Responsibilities :
- Ability to proficiently navigating across multiple key systems
- Monitor portfolios, trades and/or associated exposure to ensure the team is requesting a payment from internal and external counterparties in a timely manner
- Monitor incoming communication from clients requesting payment or information
- Action the applicable payment in the system (this may include accurately booking and recording the correct payment information)
- Working with the funding and credit relations groups, will analyze cash flow, use of cash capital and collateral, transfer of funds (intra-company and with outside parties), bank account usage, bank compensation, and flow-through of funds
- Integrates a solid understanding of industry and business standards and practices of the relevant operations processes
- Applies judgment when interpreting data, preparing reports, and presents findings to management
- Makes resolution recommendations based on identified trends and facts
- Minimizes risk to the bank through a solid understanding of procedural requirements - provides solutions to reduce errors, and to adhere to audit and control policies
- Timely management, escalation and resolution of all requests / inquiries / issues / errors
- Utilizes advanced communication, interpersonal and diplomacy skills to interact with colleagues, management and internal/external clients, in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information in a concise and logical way, while being sensitive to audience diversity
- Has direct interaction with external customers to disseminate or explain information
- Individuals at this level usually have full ownership for one or more processes, reports, procedures or products, and may also be considered analytical or procedural experts, representing a unit or team on cross-functional processes or project deliverables at a broader level
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding the firm, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
- Two plus years relevant experience
- Experience in booking/processing payments
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to navigate multiple systems
