Our client, a major Risk Analytics firm located in

Jersey City, NJ is seeking an

IT Project Manager for a long-term

consulting position.

Job Description Lead Agile development projects independently. Projects must meet identified business needs and meet agreed to quality parameters. Guide Scrum teams using sound agile practices under the guidance of company agile project management framework.

Responsibilities • Takes responsibility for the successful delivery of the project. • Serves as liaison between Development and Business to ensure smooth communication and prioritization of work. • Leads Agile teams to achieve the objectives of the project. • Make consistent use of the latest version of the project management guide and improve adherence to best practice. • Works to continuously improve the team, both technically and culturally. • Proactively takes the initiative to identify and resolve issues impacting the development team • Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project, including the provision and use of contingency for those risks which are to be managed. • Communicates with all stakeholders of the project based on their needs.

Skills and Knowledge • Demonstrate a business-focused approach, achievement of business objectives, and the identification of further business opportunities. • Proficient knowledge of Agile Project Life Cycles (Scrum, Kanban) and tools (Confluence, Jira). • Proficient in Agile Values and Principles as a mindset and in practice. • Critical thinking skills, specifically the ability to identify issues, propose solutions and lead the effort in resolving the issues. • Excellent interpersonal and communication, stakeholder management skills, demonstrated ability to use influence to keep teams focused and resolve conflicts. • Display adaptability and flexibility to deal with the non-routine or unexpected situations • Familiarity with basic development technologies and skills • Models behavior that aligns with Agile values and principles • Ability to negotiate in reference to time management and deliverables.

Experience • Proven experience serving as an Agile Project Manager and/or Scrum Master for software development teams, understanding of Agile Project Management concepts and values. • Proficient Scrum Master, with demonstrated ability to recognize obstacles as they impede the team's progress and to employ techniques to coach the team to continuously improve and self-organize. • Working experience managing risks and opportunities within a project.
