Job Description:
The Banking Production Support (BPS) organization is responsible to provide end to end support for all Banking application within Bank of America.This role is an individual contributor role on the Client Data Reference support team and will be part of multiple applications supported under the Wholesale Credit Banking (WCB) Application Support Services (APS) organization. Client Data apps have both large amounts of batch processing (Informatica, Oracle, ETL, etc) and UI (J2EE, WebService) applications. These applications transport and store the data from many different systems, and sometimes serve as the Systems of Records (SOR), making attention to detailed support a critical role component.The candidate will be work as an Application Support Analyst supporting GPBS/GEMS/CED/PAX applications.Responsibilities include:- Managing incident management and conducting proper problem follow-up
- Proactively monitoring and managing the production environment
- Troubleshooting and resolving application problems including: Job failures, Feed Management. Monitoring, to name a few
- Improving and creating documentation of support policies and procedures
- Understanding, in depth, the business processes supported by the system
- Supporting application releases, implementations, upgrades, and/or changes into the environment
- Ensuring continuity and quality by owning the resolution of issues across platforms
- Tracking progress and escalating as appropriate unless resolution reached
- Ensuring that applications and related services are documented and kept current
- Automating and building ad hoc scripts as needed to address critical business needs
- Maintaining a knowledge base of known defects and issues, process, techniques etc
- Taking part in production support rotation, and responding and resolving production problems
- Weekend or after hours work is required to support critical business initiatives such as application deployments (Pre & Post activities), infrastructure changes, Industry wide tests, or Disaster Recovery tests
- Building strong partnership with CIO team, Infrastructure and platform teams
- 5+ years of experience in development or production support
- 4+ years in following: Oracle PL/SQL, Batch job scheduling tool (Autosys, SQL agent etc)
- 4+ years in following: UNIX shell scripting
- 3+ years in following: J2EE, Webservice, SOAP/REST support • Performance tuning experience of Oracle PL/SQL Programs
- Experience in ITIL proceses and automating process improvements a plus.
- Excellent problem solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to organize time, work on multiple tasks, and follow tasks and projects through to completion, while keeping all interested parties properly updated.
- Ability to work in a 24x7 , rotating on call to support critical business initiatives including application deployments (Pre & Post activities), infrastructure changes, Industrywide tests, or Disaster Recovery tests.
