Job Description

The New Store Opening Coordinator manages and coordinates the successful execution of all new store openings, remodels, and relocations within Skechers Retail.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS

  • Act as the on site, field level point person for all new store openings, remodels, and relocations within SKECHERS Retail.
  • Communicate with store construction, visual, marketing, and operations to ensure they are completing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Provide administrative and operation support for all new stores, remodels, and relocations.
  • Partner with SKECHERS other departments within the company {IT, HR, Merchandising, DC, Visual, Merchandising, Store Construction,
  • etc.) to open new stores on time and within budget.
  • Project-manage all efforts related to successful and efficient store openings, through effecti.ve communication and process development.
  • Manage store managers and associates through strategic planning and task coordination to ensure an on time and under budget new store opening.
  • Simplify and improve new store opening, remodel, relocation and closing processes to help minimize disruption to the field.
  • Identify cost-savings or cost-avoidance opportunities for new store openings, remodels, and relocations.
  • Liaison to the corporate office for all communication throughout process of opening and remodeling of Retail Stores.
  • Collaborate on process improvement efforts in the field in between store openings. Perform data gathering, root cause analysis, and
  • performance trending in order to develop appropriate process control changes.
  • Interact with Visual Merchandising, Operations Department and Marketing, as well as corporate executives to provide status updates and process improvement action plans as it relates to the overall operational standards and processes. Gather feedback and react accordingly to ensure all standards and processes align with the longĀ­ term strategic direction of the company.

  • Ability to be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary.
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 70%-90% of the time based on new store opening schedule.
  • Interacts with all levels throughout the organization including employees and outside vendors.
  • High degree of interaction with Retail Field Teams and supporting SKECHERS departments.
  • Resolve issues with fixture, signage, equipment and/or supplies.
  • Supports store operating processes and in-store execution.
  • Supports the field as deemed by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will assist in managing all individuals working on site to ensure efficient and effective work processes towards specific store opening timelines.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education - Degree preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of retail store level retail management experience required.
  • 3+ years of retail store opening experience required.
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office and Adobe.
