ABOUT THE PROGRAMAudible's "Next Chapter" Returnship Program is a 16-week paid full-time internship for experienced professionals returning to the workforce after taking time off for caregiving. This role is open to individuals who have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience and have been out of the paid workforce for at least one year to focus on caring for a child or other dependent. This program offers you a chance to revamp your skills, update your resume with new experiences, and make connections with other professionals transitioning back to the workforce. It also offers support through Path Forward, a nonprofit organization focused on empowering people who've taken a break for caregiving to transition back to the workforce.This 16-week Returnship program is 100% virtual. Upon successful completion of the Returnship, there is a possibility of an offer for full-time employment. We expect candidates for a full-time role to reside or relocate to be within commuting distance of either our Newark, NJ or Cambridge, MA hub, once we return to in-person work 1-3 days a week (currently scheduled for Q1 2022). If you are interested in a remote full-time opportunity, please discuss this with your recruiter.ABOUT THIS ROLEThis opportunity is as a Technical Program Manager (TPM) within Audible's Amazon Program. The Amazon Program is responsible for the relationship and integration of Audible and Amazon products. We enable users to experience Audible through Amazon properties including Echo, Fire tablets, and Amazon.com. This team designs and builds architectures for products that deliver Audible content to users in all sorts of new application domains using back-end services as well as our content on end-user devices and platforms such as iOS, Android, Web, Alexa devices like Echo and more.ABOUT YOU- A detail-oriented problem-solver who enjoys the process of scratching beneath the surface to find the best solution to challenges.

- Play a leading role in running the delivery of large cross functional projects spanning teams and divisions in Audible and outside of Audible (Amazon teams).
- Collaborate to define core business objectives in order to deliver the best product, program or project with the most efficient use of company resources.
- Work with cross functional teams - technology, business, marketing and operations - to manage multiple projects that have conflicting needs / priorities, using an Agile development framework, from concept to launch.
- Drive continual improvements to the efficiency and flexibility of current software development practices.
- Communicate project risks, progress, launches and retrospectives across all stakeholders and teams - consistently and transparently.
- Strive constantly to improve and establish a new bar in performance (using objective metrics) in project execution.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of experience working within or in tandem with software engineering teams.
- 2+ years' experience managing agile software projects.
- Previous experience as a software engineer.
- Demonstrated experience influencing through written and verbal communication.
- Prior experience in building service oriented (SOA) distributed systems.
- Prior experience in building web based systems using Java/J2EE, Apache Tomcat.
- Experience building mobile device software and/or applications for large customer bases.
- Adept at usage of various tools such as Jira or Microsoft Project.
- Experience deploying distributed, multi-tier applications.
- Open to relocate to Newark, NJ or Cambridge, MA at the conclusion of the program if offered FT employment post-Returnship.
