ABOUT THIS ROLEThis opportunity is for a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join Audible to drive visibility, consistency, and improvements to the Tech and Product Orgs' planning processes. This role will engage with Senior Technology and Business Leaders throughout the org to create awareness of key metrics and measurement and to align all on best practices for using the data to drive program measurement and planning. The TPM will view solutions through a lens of strategic growth and will advise and inspire teams how to best use scaled Agile disciplines and approaches within a fast-paced, high tech environment.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will:
  • Coordinate the preparation for and the execution of Audible's planning ceremonies.
  • Define and drive adoption and visibility of key planning metrics, goals, and milestones throughout the development lifecycle and company planning process; define smart tools, content, and methods to execute on the strategy.
  • Strive constantly to improve, establishing higher bars in project planning and execution performance using objective metrics; mine program data and perform analysis of key metrics; provide actionable insights.
  • Enforce and evolve key quality metrics in the company planning process and scaled agility process improvements.
  • Research and learn industry best practices around planning and tooling to incorporate into Audible where applicable.
  • Be an advocate and educator of Agile and SAFE best practices.
  • Work with cross functional teams - technology, business, and operations - to manage multiple projects that have conflicting needs and priorities from concept to launch.
  • Interface and communicate with Development and Product teams along with other TPMs on a daily basis.
  • Proactively communicate project risks, progress, launches and retrospectives across all stakeholders and teams - consistently and transparently.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years of program/project management experience with a proven track record of successful delivery with customer impact.
  • Previous experience as a software engineer or 5+ years experience within software development.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and project planning with experience deploying distributed, multi-tier applications.
  • Ability to navigate an ambiguous environment in which change is the only constant.
  • Ability to diplomatically disagree and align when dealing with different stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify trends and "tell the story" behind large amounts of data.
  • Results oriented and with a strong customer focus.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and able to effectively organize and communicate with cross functional teams; excellent written and verbal communication skills, specifically targeted to a Sr Leadership audience.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience in translating conceptual requirements from business owners into detailed business and functional requirements with an emphasis toward scalable and efficient global solutions.
  • Demonstrated customer obsession and excellent expectation-management abilities.
  • 2+ years' experience managing agile software projects.
  • Data workflow architecture experience in building portfolio / dashboard views with examples of data rollout within a specific toolset.
  • Reporting creation experience in a scaled agile structure or supporting a multi-program portfolio.
  • Adept at usage of various tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Project.
  • Agile Scrum Master Certified or equivalent training.
  • Track record of producing deliverables using the Agile principles and operating within the Scaled Agile framework.
  • Prior management consulting experience is a plus.
  • Experience using Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement methodology to streamline business processes.
  • Prior experience in building service oriented (SOA) distributed systems.
