Job summaryGood storytelling starts with great listening. At Audible, that means each role and every project has our audience in mind. Because the same people who design, develop, and deploy our products also happen to use them. To us, that speaks volumes.

ABOUT THIS ROLEThis particular role is working with our Personalization teams to develop new recommendation and personalization technologies for Audible customers. You will work closely with Software Development Managers (SDMs) and Software Development Engineers (SDEs) to organize and plan new development and enhancement work. You will work with teams across Audible and Amazon to evangelize the personalization teams and ensure we have the capabilities and data to meet the current and future needs of the business. You will be a collaborator between the Personlization team and other Audible dev teams to ensure that the data impacts are recognized and planned for. You will become familiar with personalization, machine learning and other big data technologies and be a guide and a mentor to a growing team of data engineers. You will continue to look for process improvements both within the team as well as interfaces with other teams to bring efficiencies into the team's work breakdown and prioritization.

ABOUT THE TEAMThis opportunity is as a Technical Program Manager (TPM) within Audible's Content Discovery Program. We need your help to manage and drive these complex systems in order to ensure we are scaling our systems to keep up with the demands of our customers.

As a Technical Program Manager you will

  • Work with cross functional teams - technology, business, marketing and operations to manage multiple projects that have conflicting needs / priorities, using an Agile development framework, from concept to launch.
  • Communicate project risks, progress, launches and retrospectives across all stakeholders and teams - consistently and transparently.
  • Strive constantly to improve and establish a new bar in performance (using objective metrics) in project execution.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of experience within software.
  • 2+ years of experience managing agile software projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to diplomatically disagree and align when dealing with different stakeholders.
  • Results oriented and with a customer focus.
  • Prior experience in building service oriented (SOA) distributed systems.
  • Prior experience in building Personalization or Recommendation systems.
  • Prior experience in building web based systems using Java/J2EE, Apache Tomcat.
  • Adept at usage of various program management tools such as Microsoft Project and Jira/Confluence.
