Data Operations Specialist , Remote

Kelly Services is currently seeking a Data Operations Specialist to work for one of our top clients; work can be done remote.

This is a contract that has budget approved through the end of the year with possibility of being extended. Includes full benefits.

Recourses will work with the Data Operations Team globally to conduct operational and test internal controls and review control management practices and policies. Resource will review Standard Operating Procedures and confirm alignment and documentation. Resource will be required to develop recommendations for improvement to business processes. There may be additional analysis required under the direction of the Manager and Senior Manager. Review to have the business-critical background applications related to technology infrastructure, data, facilities, organizations, privacy, and business processes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform operational review with limited supervision from Managers and Leads.
    • Independently assesses the design and operating efficiency of internal controls.
    • Coordinate and manage interactions with multi-functional and cross-geographical teams both internally and externally, as necessary.
    • Coordinates & performs ongoing control's testing consistent with the SOX 404 program guidelines.
    • Capture and analyze information to identify key risks and corresponding controls.
    • Systematically test and evaluate controls to verify operations efficiency and effectiveness, information reliability, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Recommend control improvements.
    • Communicate findings and recommendations to management.
    • Follow-up on the status of corrective actions.
    • Identifies internal control standard methodologies and promotes their adoption across the enterprise.
    • Recommend new procedures to increase efficiency of day-to-day operations.
    • Maintain communication with Operations Manager, staff, and vendors to ensure adherence to protocol across chief touchpoints.
    • Assist the Operations Manager in developing, planning, and coordinating operational activities.
    • Oversee inventory management practices and improve as necessary.
    • Ensure operational legal compliance with state and federal regulations.
    • Monitor day-to-day operations, while tracking and reporting on performance and recommending actionable improvements as necessary.
    • Create procedures and protocols (such as checklists).
    • Reduce transaction time and improve Sarbanes-Oxley compliance by developing and implementing new, improve processes for identifying and eliminating obsolete inventory.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of operational, financial, and/or auditing experience.
  • Analytical skills: specifically, the ability to assess and decompose processes utilizing a risk and control focus is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in accounting, internal controls, and operational auditing skills.
  • Assessment and communication of audit issues / recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and accurate manner (both written and verbal communication) is required.
  • Experience interacting with all levels of management, including executive management, is required.
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal and influencing skills are required.
  • This position requires a highly motivated individual with excellent time management and multitasking skills, intellectual curiosity, people management excellence, and proven leadership skills.
  • Must possess the ability to partner and closely collaborate with all levels of the organization.
  • Must have knowledge of all common office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-sufficiency: the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
